TMG #22-Stardust, Wild Hogs, and Disturbia
Well, we're back from our week off, and we have three reviews for you. First, I go stargazing when I review the very well-received adult fairy tale, Star Dust, starring Robert Deniro and Clare Danes. Next, Doug tells us if the midlife crisis comedy of the year, Wild Hogs, was really as horrible as it looked. Finally, I take a look at Disturbia, starring one of our favorite young actors, Shia Labeouf.

TMG #19--Sunshine, The Vanishing, The Astronaut Farmer, and Our Top 5 End of the World Movies
Today on the show we learn what it takes to reignite a dying star in Danny Boyle's new sci-fi film, Sunshine. Then we take a look back at one of the best thrillers you're ever likely to see, 1988's The Vanishing (The Dutch/French version, NOT the awful American remake). Next Doug had the "pleasure" of seeing The Astronaut Farmer, and he tells us if it's as horrible as it seemed. Then I answer a bit of viewer mail about our Harry Potter review. Finally, it's the end of the world as we know it, but Doug and I feel fine as we count down our Top 5 End of the World Movies.

Today on the show Doug and I stray dangerously into the world of politics and the ethics of documentary film making in our review of Michael Moore's Sicko. Then I return to my fifth year at Hogwarts when I review Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Finally, in honor of Sicko, Doug and I count down our top five movies that champion a social cause.

Today on the show we wage our battle to destroy the evil forces of mediocre action films when we review Michael Bay's Transformers. Then we take a look back at the least known, and one of the most original, of Disney's animated films, 1985's The Black Cauldron. Finally, Doug and I take a nostalgic look back at the films that make us remember our childhood.

TMG #16--Reviews of Bridge to Terabithia and Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, Plus the Best and Worst of the Year So Far
Today on the show we review the very clever slasher deconstruction flick, Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. Then Doug and I get in a MAJOR fight about Bridge to Terabithia...Seriously, it makes our Death Proof argument look like a love fest. Word of warning, if you don't like tension (and some cursing), you might want to skip this ridiculous 22-minute UFC style bout. What can I say...we're too lazy to edit. Finally though, Doug and I manage to make-up in time to give out our awards for the best and worst of 2007 so far.

Today Doug and I review Waitress, starring Kerri Russell and our boy from Serenity and Slither, Nathan Fillion. On a tragic note, Waitress is also the final film from late director Adrienne Shelly, who was tragically murdered in her office in 2006. On a much lighter note, do you know how Doug and I know you're gay? Because you're going to listen to our extremely belated review of The 40-Year-Old Virgin! Finally, since as Doug pointed out I was the last person to see Judd Apatow's first film, we thought we'd count down the top 5 movies we haven't seen yet, but hope to.

TMG # 11--Reviews of Pirates of the Caribbean at World's End and Apocalypto, Plus a Look at the Star Wars Saga On Its 30th Birthday
Everyone's favorite drag queen pirate is back in the third installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean; was it as strong an entry as the first two films, or has Johnny Depp's Keith Richards impersonation finally wore out its welcome. Next we look at the craziest filmmaker in Hollywood, Mel Gibson, and his latest DVD release, Apocalypto; like his previous efforts it is violent and in a foreign language, but does this one have something more? Finally, Happy Birthday Darth Vader! We take a nostalgic look back at the Star Wars Saga; its highs, its lows, and our top 5 favorite moments.

In honor of Earth Day (I know, I'm a couple days late!), I'm taking a quick look at the 11-Part Mini-Series, Planet Earth. This series takes an in depth look at the wondrous and unusual aspects of nature that many of us weren't even aware of, but all of us can appreciate. Each episode focuses on a different region/habitat, such as "Caves", "Deserts", "Jungles", "The Shallow Seas", and more. Well, Doug cannot be found anywhere...maybe if he would have given Death Proof the rating it deserved I wouldn't have had to get rid of him. Just kidding! He'll be back for next week's show, but in the meantime our friend Jason agreed to sit in for him. So, we have a review of Anthony Hopkins' latest performance as a murderer in Fracture..is he still the creepiest knight ever, or has he lost his edge? Also, we take a look at animation with our review of the wonderful Kirikou and the Sorceress and our top 5 favorite animated films.

TMG #5--Reviews of The Host and Idiocracy, Plus a Look at Our Top 5 Movie Monsters
Today on the show we review The Host, a Korean film that is part monster movie, part horror, part comedy, part social commentary, part family study, part...well, you get the idea! So does The Host's refusal to sit neatly within genre conventions make it a work of genius, or an incoherent mess? You'll just have to listen to find out! We also review the DVD of Idiocracy, a film by Mike Judge, the creator of the hilarious Office Space...does he strike gold again? And finally Doug and I count down our top 5 movie monsters of all time. Hope you enjoy! Meanwhile I'm going to watch Death Proof again!

What's more awesome than a cowardly tough guy who kills people with his car, which has a skull painted across the hood no less? Why a hot girl with a machine-gun leg of course!! Today we review (and argue violently) about Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's ambitious project, Grindhouse! A word of warning, there are some mild spoilers in our review of Deathproof...we usually try to avoid that, but our debate got so heated that we lost control!

TMG #3--Reviews of The Lookout and Children of Men, Plus Listener Feedback About Our Review of 300
Apparently the marketing department who created the trailer for The Lookout suffered the same brain injury as Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character in the film, because they marketed this deliberately paced character study as a heist film! We also discuss what happens when a director actually gets the sci-fi genre right with the sublime Children of Men. All that, plus some listener feedback disagreeing with our venomous review of 300.

TMG #2--Reviews of Brick, 300, and Our Favorite Comic Book Adaptations
Today the movie guys explore the moral vacuum of the seedy underbelly of high school in Brick, graphic novel to film adaptations that got it right, and just how many times a script can include variations on the word, "Sparta!" Also, a very special segment about an exciting film maker named Scott Clements and his homage to 1940's style serials, "The Scarlet Avenger!" All that, plus a discussion about why "300" may be the first gay epic ever made and why French-Canadian chicks are so hot!
