Today on the show we wage our battle to destroy the evil forces of mediocre action films when we review Michael Bay's Transformers. Then we take a look back at the least known, and one of the most original, of Disney's animated films, 1985's The Black Cauldron. Finally, Doug and I take a nostalgic look back at the films that make us remember our childhood.

Wow, so you guys have your own podcast. HMMM any guest appearance say Regal, Miss Hall, anybody. Anyways I must disagree with you on the Transformers movie. I did like it. Its nice to see a movie from something of my childhood be decently done. My expectations were extremely low. that this would be a movie about humans helplessly watching aliens destroyed the world. Well at least there was some human to alien interaction. I must say this concept wouldn't be an easy movie to translate to mass audiences. I found the Sam and his gf and Bumblebee humor to be sophomoric and unnecessary. And I do believe we have too many human characters. The hackers were not really necessary, I don't think the most skilled hackers could say solve a computer codes from extra terristeral (sp) computer systems. The fight for the allspark isn't a bad idea, but the way of getting there with more humans than Transformers sucks. Why don't we call it "The Day the Transformers came to earth" and live a Transformers movie about the battles on Cybertron. Anyways one thing this movie really missed was Megatron (the original voice) yelling "Prime!" and I hate how these movies try to portray characters. Like Starscream is supposed to me Megatron's main commander, failure, and coward. Well thats good to know if you saw the cartoon or read one of these new cards on him, but from the movie how do we really know that. Maybe if they showed the character a bit more. I mean the moviie was only three hours. Also do we need to show another military sequence where a man is trying to see his family again. I saw that in like ID3 and in so many other movies. All in all I thought it was a pretty good movie, maybe b/c my expectations were so low. I would give it a 3 maybe a 3.25 or a 3.5. It was fun. Anyways pretty decent Podcast. Never say the Black Cauldron and I disagree when you (GALEN) say the cartoon transformers movie was better than the LIVE CGI ACTION one. The original is a cult classic for the reasons you stated but it lacked a lot and was very quick to end. Anyways keep up the good work and I might listen to another podcast.
